CNC systems is highly automated using CAD/CAM programs. The programs produce a computer file that is interpreted to extract the location and speeds of commands needed to operate a machine tools. Then down loaded to the CNC machines for operation of production. Today these component might require the use of a number of different tools and known today as ATM or Automatic Tool Magizine. Modern machines often combine multiple machine with indivisual function  into a single cell for the process of completing a part. A number of different machines are used with human or gantry robotic operators that move the part component from machine to machine then final assembly. The series of steps is used to produce any part automated and produces closely to the original CAD design.
